Gisborne will welcome the inaugural First Light Wine and Food event at Labour Weekend. Matawhero and TW Wines have teamed up to offer wine lovers the opportunity to travel around our beautiful wine region as part of the Gisborne Weekend of Wine and Food which is held every Labour Weekend. The event will be held between 12 noon and 6pm and tickets will include a complimentary bus service to, from and between the two vineyard sites. The teams at TW Wines and Matawhero are looking forward to hosting guests from around New Zealand looking for a spring weekend away with friends and family and who want to enjoy some award-winning wines, fantastic cuisine from well-known Gisborne chefs and live local music all afternoon. A highlight of our cellar door is to explore the underground cellar which is home to many older vintage Matawhero wines as well as other iconic New Zealand wine producers. Enjoy an exclusive luncheon amongst this history. Tickets include canapes to start, main, cheeseboard and dessert prepared by head chef Thomas Boyce from the iconic USSCO Bar and Bistro. All these courses are carefully matched to our award-winning Matawhero wines including our new flagship Irwin Chardonnay from the 2016 vintage.
If you love Chardonnay like we do then you will want to book in for this event! Experience five Matawhero Chardonnays as we take you on our Gisborne Chardonnay journey alfresco amongst the vines and olives at our rustic cellar door.
Tickets are $25 per person and include a cheeseboard and tasting of our Chardonnays in our unique tasting rack including our new flagship Irwin Chardonnay.
For tickets for both events please phone 06 867 6140 or email email@example.com
From modest beginnings in 1997, this year we celebrate two decades of wine and food on the East Coast. Gisborne's traditional Labour Weekend Wine festivities took on a new direction last year with a range of wine and food events over the long weekend. We have taken the best parts of the 'Weekend of Wine & Food' so that once again wine lovers can enjoy a variety of wine and food experiences around the region.
