Aromas: apricot, apple, honey and spice.
Taste: apricot, viscous, full, powerful
Food: beautiful with spicy Asian or strong cheeses.
Merlot
Current release - Matawhero 2010 Merlot
Aromas: Hints of wild berry, blackcurrant, toasty oak and leather
Taste: Full bodied wine with fruit flavours of wild berry and doris plum. Firm tannins means the wine finishes dry.
Food: Meat dishes, cheese platter and winter casseroles.
